A BRIEF REPORT ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE LAB SANCTIONED UNDER CPE GRANT

 

Under CPE grant Rs.9 lakh was sanctioned to the Department of English to set up English Language Lab. The Objective of setting up the lab was to enhance the communication skill and boost the self-esteem of slow learners and to strengthen the skills of the quick learners and train them for competitive exams. The language lab was set up with ten monitors and a master system. The software used in the lab is from Words worth language lab. Two days training for the English Department faculty was conducted by the trainer from Wordsworth Language Lab and a certificate was issued to the faculty after the training was over.

 

As the lab is full pledged and ready to use it is decided to conduct a certificate course in English proficiency and each batch would comprise of 20 students each. This course focuses on basics of the language and the four skills that are essential in communication. The course is of thirty hours. The classes for the first batch would begin in September2019.
